Amanda Duran is a Mexican-American composer, songwriter, music editor, and music supervisor from Los Angeles, California. She has composed for several award winning short films in different genres such as animation, comedy, suspense/thriller, and drama. Amanda has also worked as an independent contractor for DreamWorks Animation Television, Puny Entertainment, Disney TVA, and Mattel.
Outside of film scoring, Amanda is passionate about advocating for the arts in schools and was a member of the Youth Advisory Council for the Los Angeles County Arts Education Collective. To give back to her community, Amanda also mentors young women. She believes it is important to pass down what she has learned so far in her career to help empower the next generation of female composers.
Amanda graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a B.M. degree in Film Scoring. Prior to studying at Berklee, Amanda studied voice, classical piano, jazz piano, and music theory at the prestigious Colburn School of Performing Arts.
