Collin Russell is a composer and sound designer specializing in modular synthesis and through-composed electronic music. He enjoys composing textural, ambient soundscapes and has experience composing for film, modern dance, and art shows. By melding electronic and acoustic instruments, Collin creates innovative and thoughtful compositions. His process is rooted in the use of traditional harmonic and rhythmic structures, bridging the gap between familiar and explorative sound. When needed, Collin is also an experienced voice actor that is able to embody a myriad of character types for animation and interactive media.
In addition to working with AudioBrew, Collin is an Assistant Professor of Electronic Production and Design at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has also worked in the electronic musical instrument industry for nearly a decade. He is a product consultant, manual author, and service technician for Instruō Modular, a music synthesizer manufacturer, and a writer and researcher for Bjooks, a music technology book publisher.
Collin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a B.M. in Electronic Production and Design, with an additional emphasis on Acoustics and Electronics.
